This Lenten program, led by Pastor Jennifer, invites us not to rush through those wilderness times, but to stay with them, and discover how God is quietly at work even there. Characters @ the Cross ~ March 22, 2026 ~ 11:30 am The people and events surrounding Calvary are a profoundly powerful dynamic most worthy of inspection by every follower of the Christian faith. Join us with the Reverend Bill Keane as he leads an in-depth exploration of these characters. Who are these people? What might they be saying to us today? Come along and find out! Compline Service ~ March 22, 2026 ~ 7:30 pm We will gather in silence for a time of prayerful contemplation, listening by candlelight only to the beautiful a cappella voices of Saecula Schola Cantorum, as they sing music from throughout the ages. Lent often leads us into the wilderness—those seasons of waiting, doubt, and spiritual dryness when God feels distant and prayers seem to echo back unanswered. This Lenten program invites us not to rush through those wilderness times, but to stay with them, listen within them, and discover how God is quietly at work even there. Together, we’ll explore Scripture, prayer, and shared reflection to learn how dry seasons can become places of deep honesty, trust, and unexpected fruitfulness. Whether you feel firmly rooted or spiritually worn thin, this journey offers space to name the struggle, seek God’s presence, and find hope in the midst of the wilderness.
This contemplative service invites the NGCC community and friends to observe the Lenten season in stillness and prayer, preparing hearts and minds for the Passion and Resurrection of Christ.
A freewill offering will gratefully be accepted.

Inclement Weather PolicyPower outages or seasonally defied burst of weather changes can on occasion result in a Church and/or Church Office Closing. Church closings will be announced on WTNH (Channel 8) and on WFSB (Channel 3). During the work week, NGCC follows the Guilford Schools. If schools are delayed or closed, the church office will be as well.
Please check your local TV stations, WTNH (Channel 8) and WFSB (Channel 3), before Sunday worship. Church may be cancelled even if the Worship email is sent. Worship is a vital part of the life of our church body, so we will make every effort to remain open for our worship services. |
