Christian Education at NGCCAt North Guilford Congregational Church, our Christian Education program has something for everyone. For our youngest visitors, we have our Crib/Toddler room. The Christian Education program is run by a dedicated group of volunteer teachers from the congregation under the guidance of our CE Director. Infants and toddlers are cared for by approved volunteers. After the children’s message each week, children ages 3 through grade 8 are invited to join us for our Church School program. NGCC uses the Workshop Rotation Model for Church School, this model incorporates drama, music, art and movement with more traditional learning methods. We focus on the same scripture lesson for 3-5 weeks and approach it using a different method each week. Our children gain a better understanding of the major stories of the Bible through this approach. Adult SpiritualityAdults can find ways to grow their faith at NGCC through weekly Bible study and focused spirituality programs. Consult the Beacon Newsletter for upcoming events. Confirmation Classes
Confirmation classes are offered every other year to high school students. Teens meet for a monthly group session which is followed up with a one-on-one mentor meeting. Mentors are volunteers from the congregation. Confirmand and mentors are matched in an effort to widen the youths' contacts within the church and also provide a safe sounding board for the teens as they navigate their distinctive faith journey. After completing confirmation classes, teens are free to make a decision about becoming members of the church. Our high school students remain active in leadership roles within the congregation and enjoy spending time together in SPARK Senior Youth Group. Youth MinistryYouth Ministry at NGCC is energetic, exciting, and growing every day. We are determined to make a difference in this world! The groups meet regularly to grow in faith, find fellowship, and to serve.
All youth are invited; you do not need to be a church member to attend. Younger children can strengthen their faith foundation through our Christian Education Program. Junior Youth Group: grades 4-7 SPARK Youth Group: grades 8-12 |
