SOS for Refugees

SOS for Refugees is a group of individuals primarily from North Guilford Congregational and Saint Andrew's Episcopal, but also includes volunteers from other churches, and the community, who are dedicated to helping refugees.  We work together with IRIS (Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services).

Refugee Resettlement!

In 2017, an energized group came together to co-sponsor a refugee family with IRIS.
In 2018, that sponsorship became a reality when we welcomed a family of five into the United States!
IRIS
Refugee families arriving in the United States have endured untold horrors in their homeland, from wars to political persecution.  IRIS (Integrated Refugee and Immigration Services) in New Haven helps these people become established and start new lives.  Click the button below to learn more about IRIS.

Refugee Resettlement!

SOS is Sponsoring Another Refugee Family!
Please contact Farida Ahangari if you are willing to volunteer!

There are 3 levels of involvement:
  1. Actively involved – requires IRIS training, background check and safety training
  2. Passively involved – making contributions to the cause, especially financial
  3. Informed – on the emails
Can you be a Level 1 volunteer?
If you are able to volunteer, please email Farida

Help us support our Family!!!
Donations
One of the biggest hurdles is raising enough money to completely support a family until they are able to support themselves.
At this time we do not need donations of items.

Thank you to all who helped make our Soup Fundraiser a success!
